Strength and conditioning for combat sports is a specialised field that most gym coaches and personal trainers are not equipped to deliver correctly. The demands of MMA, BJJ and Muay Thai competition require athletes to express maximal strength and speed in very short bursts, sustain aerobic output over 15–25 minute bouts, and recover rapidly between rounds — all while maintaining technique under fatigue.
Standard gym programming optimises for one quality: size, or one-rep maximum strength, or cardio endurance. Combat S&C optimises for all of them simultaneously and in the right proportions.
