Boxing is the oldest and most refined striking art in competition sport. At Red Crown MMA Academy in Noida, we teach boxing the right way — mechanics-first, with a coach who understands that a perfect jab is more important than a hard one, and that footwork creates every opportunity the punch is only allowed to take.

What Is
Boxing?

Boxing is the sport and art of fighting with the fists. It is the most widely practised combat sport in the world, governed by a set of technical skills so deep and demanding that elite practitioners train for decades to reach mastery. Footwork, punch mechanics, defensive movement, combination construction, ring generalship — boxing demands perfection in all of them simultaneously.

Often called "the sweet science" because of the tactical and technical complexity underneath the apparent simplicity, boxing produces fighters who are fast, precise, defensively sharp and genuinely dangerous with their hands. It is also the best upper-body conditioning method in combat sports — pad rounds and bag work build cardiorespiratory fitness, shoulder endurance and hand-eye coordination at a level few other activities can match.

At Red Crown MMA in Noida, we train boxing as both a standalone discipline and as the hand-skill foundation for MMA. The footwork, distance management and defensive principles we teach in boxing are directly transferable to every other striking art.

What You'll Learn

Stance & Guard
Orthodox and southpaw positioning, chin tuck, guard hand placement and the shoulder-forward fighting stance. The position you return to every time is the most important technical habit in boxing.

The Jab
The single most important punch in boxing — used to control distance, set up combinations, disrupt the opponent's rhythm and score points. Mechanics: extension, shoulder drive, guard hand, return.

Power Punches
The cross (straight right/left), hook and uppercut. Full hip rotation mechanics, weight transfer, the difference between a power shot and a commitment punch.

Combination Punching
2, 3, 4 and 6-punch combinations. Building combination sense — which shots open which targets, which angles are created by movement, how to chain punches without telegraphing.

Footwork
Advancing, retreating, lateral movement, pivoting and the V-step. Footwork is not about looking good — it creates and denies angles, and every missed punch is a footwork problem.

Head Movement & Defence
Slip inside and outside, roll under hooks, shoulder roll, parry and block. The defensive skills that allow you to be in range without being hit cleanly.

Counter-Punching
Reading the opponent's committed punches and landing counters in the gap created. Counter-punching is what separates technical fighters from brawlers.

Bag, Mitt & Sparring Work
Heavy bag rounds for power and output, mitt work for combination timing and precision, controlled sparring to test everything under live pressure.

Inside a Typical Class

01
Shadow Boxing Warm-Up

3 rounds of shadow boxing — working footwork patterns, slipping, rolling and throwing combinations in the mirror without a partner. The best diagnostic tool in boxing.

Technique Session

Coach-led instruction on 2–3 specific techniques with demonstration and drilling. Partner work with focus mitts or a cooperative partner holding for the drilled shots.

Bag Rounds

Heavy bag rounds applying the drilled techniques in a fatigue-managed output context. Building power, volume and combination habit.

Sparring or Mitt Work

Light technical sparring (for students who are sparring-ready) or coach mitt rounds. All sparring is supervised and calibrated to the participants' level.


Boxing classes at Red Crown run 75 minutes. The first 20 minutes build the body — footwork patterns, shadow boxing and light stretching. The core 40 minutes are technical drilling and bag or mitt work. The final 15 minutes are either sparring or advanced combination work.

Beginners are never pushed into contact before their mechanics are ready. The progression from beginner to sparring-ready is the coach's call, not the student's impatience — and this protects both the student's development and their physical safety.

Typically 4–8 weeks of consistent training. You need to have your guard, footwork and basic punches working reliably before sparring benefits you. Before that, sparring just builds bad habits under pressure.
No. Attend the free trial in comfortable athletic clothing. After joining, you will need hand wraps and gloves — we will advise on exactly what to get. Do not spend money on gear before you have trained.
Yes, completely. Many of our students train boxing purely for the physical and mental benefits with no interest in competition. The conditioning is excellent and the skills are satisfying to develop for their own sake.
